Ode to Kandee

If I'm going to do this blog thing, I think it's only right that I big up the lady that inspired me to create one in the first place- the gorgeous and talented makeup artist Kandee Johnson. I came across Kandee on Youtube one afternoon. I was looking for a new makeup look for the weekend and I clicked into one of her videos. That was a year ago and I've been hooked ever since! The thing is, Kandee is not like most Internet gurus. Her videos and blog entires are heart-felt, encouraging and down-right inspiring. I've never met her, but I feel like I know her, and I think that is the sign of a truly special person. She has been through many hard times but has managed to come out the other side a positive and beautiful person. In short, she rocks!

Aside from all this, her makeup and style videos showcase her amazing talent and eye for colour. I''m telling you, I have got more compliments for my makeup when I've followed her quick tutorials than any other time, and I've done really good makeup courses! Hello....

I used to keep diaries all the time when I was younger. Whenever I had a good or a bad day, whenever something strange or funny happened, or whenever I discovered a new product or a new way of doing my hair or makeup, I would put pen to paper and write it all down. It was quite therapeutic and if I'm honest, fended off hours of boredom. Also it was really useful if I forgot anything, my memory is a little mushy at times! As I got a little older and my curfew got a little later I stopped keeping diaries. Until now, that is!

I'm a huge fan of blogs and have spent many hours online reading peoples' opinions and advice on anything and everything, but seeing as I have a quite a bit of both myself, I decided to create this 'online journal', which will be a sounding ground for me on everything from beauty and makeup products, music and life in general...it's purely for me and my sanity! xxx
